Work

Bowl-o-RamaFormalities First
First off, welcome! Adesina Media, in keeping with my personality and work ethic, is focused on the idea that the best work is oftentimes rooted in a bit of play (and vice versa). If you've met me in person, you'll know that in loving what I do, I tend to have a bit of fun with all of my endeavors. This site is meant to paint a picture of my cohesive look at work and play, all about the overlap between my professional work and personal designs.

Note: While I tend to be quite serious about new challenges, I remain a terrible bowler.

For more about how this all came about, check out my BACKGROUND.

The Day Job
A little bit about me - I have spent over ten years as dedicated web, print and interactive designer. My love of design and art has afforded me countless opportunities both in the U.S. and abroad, from a web design position at the Department of State, to photography studies in Italy. In addition to this, I serve as the Associate Director for Web-Based Communications at The City College of New York. I'm ex-Adjunct Faculty for the Communication Design Program at Northern Virginia Community College (and their ex-Webmaster as well), and I miss teaching courses on Web, CSS, and Flash design and development on a regular basis.

Design to Learn : Learn to Design
My most recent passion is design for education, and I am constantly looking for new and better ways to engage students with cutting-edge uses of technology in the classroom. I've dedicated much of the past year trying to bridge the gap between the digital natives and digital immigrants - as a digital native, I've sat through one too many classes that have needed a tech facelift.

All Work and No Play
My love of design transfers to a passion for painting, photography, and gourmet cooking. I enjoy long-distance running, world travel, tennis, and spending time with the pug and puggle. I've recently started writing about my love of the photographic process on Adesina's Lens Flare.
